Where it comes from

RIYO is to dream in Somali.

But a dream can mean a lot of things.

It can be something you want for yourself. Something you remember. An idea of what could exist. Sometimes a dream feels good, sometimes it doesn’t. Some dreams give direction. Some warn you. Some stay with you long enough that you have no choice but to pay attention.

RIYO is built around that idea.

Dreaming is imagining beyond what’s already in front of you. It’s being able to see something before it exists, and believing enough in that vision to follow it.

That’s why RIYO was never meant to live in one category. Clothing, art, photography, film, music — they’re all different ways ideas can exist in the real world.

The point isn’t for everybody to see the same thing.

It’s to make you feel something, think about something, or remember something of your own.
